How To Avoid Burnout

Do Not Be Afraid To Ask For Help

Whenever you begin to feel stressed, it is important to be able to ask for help. Especially from your managers at work. If you find it difficult to ask for help, you may want to consider developing a self-care check-in with your close friends and family, this means that you can take care of each other during tough times.

Consider Following A Fitness Plan

You would be surprised, exercising releases so many endorphins. It is an easy option to cope with stress by binge eating in front of the TV. However, this will not benefit in the long run. You do not have to go to the gym to exercise, a lot of people suffer from gym anxiety. Instead, you could go for a run or search on YouTube for a home workout video. Studies have shown that doing physical activity, meditation, yoga, mindfulness, etc has a positive effect on our mental health. They have been proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and burnout. It has been shown that reduced stress and anxiety can help with burnout, however having a good night’s sleep also helps to avoid burnout.

Try A Morning Ritual

You want to start your mornings off right! The last thing you want to do is wake up late and end up rushing around so you are not late to work. Try and slow your morning right down. You will see an enormous difference in your mood. To do this try and set your alarm a bit earlier each morning. Give yourself enough time to properly wake up, have a morning coffee, grab a shower, whatever it is you like to do in the mornings. Once you do this a couple of times and even give yourself slightly more time each morning, you will begin to develop an attachment to “your” time because you have chosen to start your day by taking care of yourself and doing things you genuinely enjoy.

This Is Easier Said Than Done But STOP Making Excuses

What is the reason you are beginning to feel burnt out? Is it because of something that your boss, family, friends, children have done? If this is the case, you need to stop focusing on what they have done wrong or what they have done to annoy you or stress you out because this will lead down a long road of burnout. Instead, what you need to do is accept responsibility for your part of the problems. Do not worry about anyone else for the time being. Once you stop making excuses for the behaviour of others, you will feel a sense of relief, almost like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. You will start seeing the good in life.

Remember That You Are Human

We are all human! We all feel the effects of burnout. Everyone may seem good on the outside but for all, you know they are feeling the same way as you. This applies to working life and the lives you see of the people online. Remember do not be too hard on yourself. No one expects perfection from people so stop putting pressure on yourself.
